Dear Students and Staff,

We are excited to announce that the much-anticipated annual basketball tournament is just around the corner! This year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with teams from across the campus coming together to showcase their skills and spirit. Please take note of the following details and mark your calendars for this thrilling sports event.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, March 15th, 2023
  • Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Venue: Main Gymnasium, Campus East

Schedule of Events:

  • 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Opening Ceremonies
  • 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Preliminary Matches
  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch Break
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Semi-Finals and Finals
  • 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Award Ceremonies and Closing Remarks

Participation:

All registered student teams are encouraged to participate in this tournament. The competition is open to both male and female teams, and we have a variety of categories to cater to different skill levels:

  • Open Category: For teams with no age or skill restrictions.
  • Novice Category: For teams with players who are new to competitive basketball.
  • Intermediate Category: For teams with a mix of experienced and new players.
  • Advanced Category: For teams with a high level of skill and experience.

To register your team, please submit the following information to the Sports Office by March 1st, 2023:

  • Team Name
  • Captain's Name and Contact Information
  • List of Players (including their names, positions, and years of study)
  • Confirmation of Team Size (minimum 5 players, maximum 12 players)

Entry Fees:

  • Each team is required to pay a registration fee of $50.
  • This fee covers the cost of tournament materials, awards, and refreshments for the players.

Judging Criteria:

The tournament will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Skill and Technique
  • Teamwork and Strategy
  • Sportsmanship and Fair Play

Prizes:

The winning teams in each category will receive the following prizes:

  • 1st Place: Trophy, Certificate, and $100 cash prize
